Lancero Salvatella

Lancero was born and raised for the first three years of his life in the rolling hills of Northern Spain. I came across him during my search for a double dilute stallion who retained the key characteristics of a classic PRE, full of brio, trainability, expressive movement and athleticism while not sacrificing any of the type and raza for color. Lancero, with a high percentage Carthusian blood, represents the wonderful characteristics of the breed, and offers unique bloodlines in the US that bring fresh blood to the dilute genetic pool.

Since his import in 2022, Lancero has proven himself as a brilliant liberty partner, riding horse, and most importantly a kind and balanced stallion even during and after his first breeding season in 2023. He has maintained his sweet nature, easy manageability, and brilliant trainability. He lives a social life with his herd mates, sharing a fence line with our other stallion, who is his best friend. His beauty has captivated photographers from around the world, and his demeanor has everyone from small children to the professionals he has come in contact with falling in love with him. 

It is not for lack of spark that makes him such an easy to handle stallion - he is full of brio and fire when asked for it! He is extraordinarily easy to teach high effort behaviors including Spanish walk, Spanish trot and even Spanish canter. He is forward and sensitive but sensible, with a wonderful work ethic.

With a unique color genetic profile, Lancero can produce every dilute color combination including palomino, buckskin, cremello, perlino, palomino pearl, buckskin pearl, and the elusive double pearl Isabella.

LANCERO SALVATELLA is a rare, one of a kind Imported ANCCE revised PRE Stallion. He tests as a Buckskin Pearl and homozygous for nd1. All of his foals will inherent a cream gene or a Pearl gene and the nd1 gene.
